Parents influencing our decisions
When it comes to making decisions in life we do not realize how much our parents influence us. As we get older and older our parents tell us that we are old enough to make our own decisions but little do we know that no matter what our parents will influence almost very decision we make. Parents influence us on what we do based on their previous experiences. They want to make sure that we do not make the same mistakes that they did, so they influence us on things that will allow us to get far in life. Whether its influencing us on our school work and how to study for tests or how to treat people with respect. As little kids parents influence us on how we should behave in front of people. Whenever we would go to someones house they would always say "use your manners" or "don't forget to say please and thank you", so we would always do those things because we wanted to make our parents proud of us for doing the right thing. When i was little and used to go to my friends house for sleepovers my parents would always tell me to be polite and to ALWAYS use my manners, and that is what i did because in the back of my mind i would think of what my parents would say if i did not use my manners. So as teenagers now we might not think that our parents influence us on our decisions, but in reality their influence is everywhere.

Parents really do have a large influence in the decisions that we make today as teenagers. They shape us into the people we become by teaching us respect, responsibility, and other important aspects in life. If we did not have the influence of our parents while growing up the decisions we make now would be a lot different. Maybe we would be slacking in school/work, or disrespectful to others if they hadn't influenced us otherwise when we were younger.
ReplyDeleteI think that you are right, no matter what, in the back of our minds we are always thinking what would my parents do if they found out what I am doing? We are always trying to please them and make them proud. When it comes to my parents especially it is worse when I disappoint them, then when I make them mad. So I think that no matter what we do or where we go that we will always be wanting to please or parents and make them proud.
